Informed Consent Requires Informing

Values Statement for Your Practice Samples Below

Informed consent is the standard. If you’re a coach or therapist, your values shape your work. Clients deserve to know what you stand for before they trust you with their body, their story, their safety.

Sample values statements (pick yours and say it plainly):

Example 1: values anchored in protection
   •   “My practice is explicitly anti racist, anti patriarchal, and LGBTQ+ affirming.”
   •   “I do not collaborate with or support institutions that target immigrants or criminalize survival.”
   •   “I center informed consent, power awareness, and harm reduction.”

Example 2: values anchored in law and order
   •   “My practice is politically conservative and I support strong border enforcement.”
   •   “I believe personal responsibility is the foundation of change.”
   •   “I am faith-led, and my work reflects traditional values.”

Different values, different clients. That’s the point. Let people choose with their eyes open. That’s the standard.
